It’s Friday.

And I know that I’ve been raising a glass to different things each Friday. But this Friday, it really just is to the end of the week. Holy hell. What a week.

My kids crashed after Thanksgiving. Literally and figuratively. Saturday night both kids were in bed and asleep before 6 p.m. No joke.

Since then, Quinn got a nasty cold that she gave to Nathan and I. I have been CRAZILY planning Gavin’s Skylander Birthday party, and just when I was pretty sure our week couldn’t get more hectic, Gavin got the stomach flu.

In summary, my week has been full of snot, puke, and tears. Mainly my own tears.

So here is the week in pictures. The cleaned up, puke free pictures.

A dinosaur wandered through my kitchen.

Those in my life questioned my sanity as I made 20 1 1/2 inch by 1 1/2 inch double sided Skylander keychains.

My kids took comfort in each other. You can’t see it in the picture, but they are wearing the same shirt. I can’t get over how much Gavin loves dressing like his little sister. They like being “twinsies.” And given that they are a boy and a girl and one is five and the other is one, it’s pretty hard to pull off without one of them lookin’ like a fool. But they have matching “Let’s Rock” shirts. Super awesome.

Quinn insisted on wearing my socks as leggings. And then when I asked if I could take her picture, she sat down and refused to stand. That’s Quinn in a nutshell.

I successfully made and rolled fondant. It was the highlight of my week, and maybe my last six months. Everyone knows that the ability to roll fondant is the first step in total world domination.

And finally I leave you with a picture of my kids looking deceptively cute and free of tears, snot, and puke. Don’t let this picture fool you. They are monsters.

It looks like, despite the sickness and craziness of Thanksgiving you had a good week :)

  2. Sandra Kohlmann says

We’ve been sickly around here, too. I haven’t had to deal with puke, other than my own (knock on wood) this week, but we definitely don’t feel up to par. I love the pic of Quinn in your socks. She is such a doll!

You are hilarious! I wish I didn’t have a dinosaur phone so I could use instagram!

Aw, that sucks. Why does everything always happen like that??? I love the keychains, I also question my sanity on things like that, but the kids love them!!! :) Hope this week is better…
