Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Dough Dip | Delicious, simple, easy, and irresistible!

The other night I was out to dinner with some good friends. It was one of those evenings where I had had the most ridiculous day with the kids, I was so tired I was running on fumes, and I was seriously considering just canceling with them because I wasn’t sure I could stand up, never mind carry on pleasant conversation.

But I’m so happy that I didn’t cancel because I had the worlds best tacos and some of the best conversations. I was out with my friend Cathy and some of our good friends who aren’t bloggers, but should be because they were making us laugh so hard, I was almost in tears.

One of our friends, in between hilarious stories of boys peeing in water parks and kids embarrassing you in public (shockingly, two different stories), mentioned that she hadn’t really kept up with our blogs over the summer. I told her it was okay, because most my posts read, “I’m tired. My kids are making me crazy. I’m trying to lose the baby weight. I’m tired . . . . and my kids are making me crazy.”

So this Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Dough Dip is my letter of apology to you dear readers. You have suffered through my I’m-fat-tired-and-crazy posts all summer, and now fall is knocking on our back doors, and that is my FAVORITE blogging time of the year. Everything is pumpkin, apple, and decorated in orange yellow and candy corn. (Yesterday morning I didn’t go back to bed after Piper’s 5 am feeding just so I could write down all my candy corn ideas and not forget them #candycornallthethings.)

Okay, I’m getting side tracked. Because I’m {cough} tired. :)

Let’s talk about this Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Dough Dip. It is SO good and perfect fall with it’s oatmeal-raisin-cinnamonness. I served it at the goodbye BBQ, and it was awesome to listen to guests that I didn’t really know that well (my sister-in-law’s side of the family) talk about how good it was, because they didn’t know I made it. They were raving about it. The word on the street was that it was really good with apples, but totally irresistible with graham crackers.

So perfect for fall, you’ll want to grab a bowl, some crackers, crunch through some leaves, sip a pumpkin latte and forget about how tired you are. :)

  10. Christine says

Thanks for sharing! Maybe this is a dumb question, but can it be made the day before or should I wait to add the oats until just before serving?

    • Lisa Longley says

Not a dumb question at all Christine! I made this just as described two days before serving, and it was totally fine, oats and all. Just make sure that you let it sit out for at least an hour (but honestly longer is better) before serving so it can get nice and soft again.
