Ingredients

For Burgers

  • 1 pound ground beef (453.6 grams)
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt (if using table salt, start with half)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup pizza sauce (61 grams)
  • 16 slices pepperoni
  • 1 cup mozzarella shredded (113 grams)

For Buns

  • 4 brioche buns see note
  • 1/4 cup butter melted (56.5 grams)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine the beef and seasonings. Divide the mixture into 4 equal parts and shape into hamburger patties.
1 pound ground beef, 2 teaspoons garlic powder, 2 teaspoons dried oregano, 2 teaspoons dried basil, 1 teaspoon kosher salt, 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat to cook on the stovetop. (Please see instructions in the post for grilling.) Place the hamburgers in the skillet and cook for 4 minutes. Flip the burgers and top each with a tablespoon of pizza sauce. Top with pepperoni slices and shredded mozzarella. Cook for 4 minutes or until the burgers register 160 degrees Fahrenheit.
1/4 cup pizza sauce, 16 slices pepperoni, 1 cup mozzarella
  • While the burgers are cooking, combine the melted butter with the garlic powder and parsley. Brush the inside of the buns with the butter mixture.
1/4 cup butter, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • Place a large skillet over low heat and place the buns butter side down on the skillet. Toast for 2 to 3 minutes or until the buns just begin to brown.
  • Add the burgers to the toasted buns. Serve and enjoy.

Notes

I love this recipe with brioche buns because of their subtle sweet and buttery flavor and fluffy texture. You could also use hamburger buns.
Please note that the nutritional information is based only on the pizza burger itself with the toppings, and not the bun or what that part of the recipe includes as buns vary so greatly.
