Pizza Burgers are a delightful twist on cheeseburgers that your whole family will love. Everything from the burger’s seasonings to the garlic bread like buns is drool-worthy!

Keeping up with my oldest’s appetite is a new challenge. He is an athlete, a long distance runner specifically. If you think you know how much a teenage boy who is a long distance runner needs to eat, double that, and you will see the challenge.
Recently we went out to eat and he ordered a pizza burger. He loved it, and I had a new mission to make an even better version at home. Mission accomplished, this burger is easy to make and absolutely delicious!

How to Make Pizza Burgers
Here is a brief overview of how this pizza burger recipe comes together. For the full recipe including all measurements, scroll to the recipe card at the bottom of the post.
- Combine the beef and seasonings. Use clean hands to combine and divide the mixture into four equal parts and shape into hamburger patties.
- Cook the burgers. Add the burger patties to a hot skillet and cook for four minutes. Flip the burgers and top each with a tablespoon of pizza sauce.
- Add the pepperoni and cheese. Top with pepperoni slices and shredded mozzarella cheese. Cook for four minutes or until the cheese melts and the burgers register 160 degrees Fahrenheit with an instant read thermometer.
- Prepare the buns. Combine the melted butter with the garlic powder and parsley. Brush the inside of the buns with the butter mixture. Put them butter side down on a hot skillet and toast the buns for a minute or two, until golden.
- Put the pizza burgers together. Add the burgers to the toasted buns. Serve and enjoy.

How to Grill Pizza Burgers
Preheat your grill to 450 degrees Fahrenheit with all of the burners on high. Once it reaches the desired temperature, turn two of the burners to low, leaving the other two on high. Place the burgers over the turned-down burners and cook for four minutes on each side. Add the toppings once you flip the burgers.
Make Burgers in the Air Fryer
Hamburgers in the Air Fryer are a great way to make them all year long. They are made so quickly, and hands off. You can do that easily with this recipe by following my instructions for Air Fryer Burgers. Simply add the sauce, pepperoni, and cheese in the last four minutes of cooking.

Storing and Reheating Leftovers
If you know you will be having leftovers, I suggest leaving the patties uncooked. Store them in an airtight container for up to four days.
Store any leftover pizza burgers that have been cooked (without the bun) in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in a skillet over low heat or in the air fryer until heated through and then add to a toasted bun.

Ingredients
For Burgers
- 1 pound ground beef (453.6 grams)
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 2 teaspoons dried basil
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt (if using table salt, start with half)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup pizza sauce (61 grams)
- 16 slices pepperoni
- 1 cup mozzarella shredded (113 grams)
For Buns
- 4 brioche buns see note
- 1/4 cup butter melted (56.5 grams)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
Instructions

- Heat a skillet over medium heat to cook on the stovetop. (Please see instructions in the post for grilling.) Place the hamburgers in the skillet and cook for 4 minutes. Flip the burgers and top each with a tablespoon of pizza sauce. Top with pepperoni slices and shredded mozzarella. - While the burgers are cooking, combine the melted butter with the garlic powder and parsley. Brush the inside of the buns with the butter mixture.1/4 cup butter, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- Place a large skillet over low heat and place the buns butter side down on the skillet. Toast for 2 to 3 minutes or until the buns just begin to brown.
- Add the burgers to the toasted buns. Serve and enjoy.
