Shrimp Salad Recipe

This shrimp salad recipe is creamy, flavorful, and ready in just 10 minutes. Made with Old Bay, fresh dill, and precooked shrimp for an easy lunch.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp cooked, deveined, and thawed, see note (453 grams)
  • 1/2 small red onion diced small
  • 2 stalks celery diced
  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise I used light (169.5 grams)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Old Bay Seasoning
  • 1/2 tablespoon fresh dill or 1/2 teaspoon dry dill
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt or 1/4 teaspoon table salt
  • black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine the shrimp, red onion, and celery.

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, lemon juice, Old Bay Seasoning, fresh dill, and half the salt called for. Taste and add salt and pepper to taste.
    3/4 cup mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 1 1/2 teaspoons Old Bay Seasoning, 1/2 tablespoon fresh dill, 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, black pepper
  • Stir the dressing into the main ingredients and serve. This recipe can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days in an airtight container.

Notes

Shrimp: I like to buy cooked frozen shrimp for this recipe in either the 61-70 or 100 -200 per pound bag. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight, and pat dry before adding to the salad to prevent the salad from becoming watery.
