Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a 12 or 14 inch pizza pan with cooking spray and set aside.
In a large bowl mix the flour, baking powder, and salt together. Set aside.
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt
In a large bowl using a handheld mixer or in the bowl of a stand mixer fit with the paddle attachment, cream the butter and sugar together until it is light and fluffy, about 3 to 6 minutes. Add in the eggs one at a time, then add in the vanilla extract.
14 tablespoons unsalted butter, 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, 2 large eggs
Add the flour mixture. Turn the mixer on low and as soon as you are able to turn the mixer up without the flour flying out of the bowl, turn the mixer on high. Mix just long enough for the flour to be fully incorporated. Be careful not to over mix.
Spread the dough out onto the prepared pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until the edges begin to turn golden brown. Allow to cool 1 to 2 hours before decorating.
