This Before and After School Checklist takes a small bit of the the crazy out of the two most hectic times a day, before and after school!

You guys. I’m scared.

So you know how before school is a CRAZY time? You guys! This year I have two kids to get ready! And one of them is not a morning person. She is small, adorable, and just getting over (barely) her threenager status. Quinn is a beastly beast in the morning and she likes to take 5.2 hours to eat her breakfast. Guys. I have to leave the house with three kids dressed and fed by 7:20.

Hold me.

So this is my plan:  Make life as easy as possible. Ha! No really, I figure that if I can make breakfasts that are quick and if I can get Gavin going on his own, things will be easier!

This morning checklist and Jimmy Dean® Pancake & Sausage for the win! Gavin loves these! They are a blueberry pancake wrapped around a sausage and on a stick! What’s not for a 7 year old boy to love, right? (Also, the second I was done with this photo shoot, Gavin wolfed this down.)

And the checklist? I love the idea of something that will keep him on track without me. The idea of only barking orders at one kid, the kid who can’t read yet, sounds perfect. I know that not everyone will have the same items on their morning checklist, but this basic list will fit many. And if you laminate them and hand the kiddos a dry erase marker, you can use them over and over and over.

After school is kind of the same deal, only Quinn will have been home for a while (K4 is just the morning), and he will be beat from the day and super hungry. So State Fair® Classic Corn Dogs and this after school checklist come to the rescue! Gavin looooooves these corn dogs! And right after he was done with his pancake wrapped sausage and I was done with this photo he wolfed down this corndog. (OMG, I swear that kid has a hollow leg, that was after he had already eaten a big lunch!)

Again, I’m sure that everyone will have a different after school routine, but I hope this helps alleviate the stress of yours a little.
