WHAT IS A VODKA PRESS?

First, let’s talk about what a vodka press is. Basically, a press cocktail is any drink that is mixed with equal parts soda water and lemon-lime soda, like a Grey Goose Press. This vodka press is made with a shot of vodka, cranberry soda and Sprite. The word “press” may make it seem like you’re pressing something, but it actually gets its name from the popular whiskey drink called the Presbyterian. It’s also a double soda drink, though it typically uses ginger ale instead of Sprite or 7-Up. But this cocktail has options! Which leads me to…

VODKA CRANBERRY PRESS TWO WAYS

I actually made two different versions, one is a little sweeter, but doesn’t have that true cranberry color. And the other is a little less sweet, but still so amazingly delicious and absolutely beautiful (pictured here). It’s up to you, friends. Either one will help you ring in that most fabulous of seasons!

Sweeter Version:

  • Vodka (any brand will do!)
  • Cranberry soda (you can find a cranberry flavored soda at any grocery store, especially around the holidays. Cranberry Sprite or Canadian Dry cranberry flavored ginger ale are great options)
  • Club soda
  • Fresh cranberries for garnish

Less Sweet Version:

  • Vodka
  • 100% Cranberry juice (there’s even a diet version that tastes delicious so you can keep this cocktail really low calorie)
  • Club Soda
  • Fresh cranberries for garnish

VARIATIONS TO THE VODKA PRESS

This vodka press cocktail is so versatile, you can make any flavor you like! Try raspberry, lime, cherry, orange, lemon or pomegranate. Or if fruity isn’t your jam, try vanilla vodka, cake flavored, cola, anything you like!
