Vodka is such a versatile base to start with since it absorbs flavors beautifully and infusing it with various flavors adds a great twist to regular cocktails.

How to Make Jalapeño Infused Vodka

Combine one sliced jalapeño with one cup of vodka in a glass jar. Let the vodka infuse for 8 to 24 hours noting that the longer you let it sit the stronger it will taste. For a mild flavor, only let it sit for an hour. Once it is infused, strain the vodka with a mesh strainer and use in cocktails.

If I wanted to give the Jalapeño vodka as a Christmas gift to friends, how long would it last in the bottle I gave to them in?

    • Lisa Longley says

I would have to try it to give you a solid answer. That being said, if I were doing this, I would slice up at least six jalapeños for a jar of vodka. Then I would let it sit for at least 24 hours. And then I would remove all of the jalapeños and filter the vodka with a cheese cloth. Doing all that, I would suggest that they store the vodka in the freezer and it should be good to go.
