WHAT GOES INTO CHERRY CHEESECAKE FRUIT FLUFF?

  • Cream Cheese
  • Cheesecake Pudding Mix, though if you can’t find that just use vanilla.
  • Vanilla extract
  • Milk
  • Cool Whip, if you prefer not to use cool whip, you can use homemade cool whip, which is stabilized with gelatine.
  • Cherry Pie Filling
  • Mini Marshmallows

It’s so simple and so easy to throw together.

TIPS FOR THIS CHERRY CHEESECAKE FLUFF

Does it seem super ridiculous to give you tips for a simple recipe? Guys. We are all at different abilities. Don’t judge. Some of us can’t even ball a melon.

  1. Make sure your cream cheese is at room temperature. I like to a fill a small bowl with water, microwave it for 5 minutes, empty it, and then put that over the cream cheese that is still in the foil wrap but out of the cardboard box. Even right out of the refrigerator that brings it to room temperature in about 10 minutes.
  2. As mentioned above, I used cool whip, but you could certainly make homemade whipped cream and then stabilize it following this great recipe from Something Swanky.
  3. If you watch the video for this, you will see that I didn’t mix the cool whip in with the beater before adding the cherries and marshmallows. That was so I could get that pretty picture of all the ingredients in the bowl you see above. Don’t be like me, guys. Whip the cool whip in with the cream cheese and other liquid ingredients before adding the cherries and marshmallows.

Do you think it would work to substitute frozen whole cherries (purchased in a bag from Costco —individually frozen)? It would be less sweet than pie filling but maybe OK?

    • Lisa Longley says

I’m not sure, honestly. You will be missing out on some of the liquid and some of the sweetness. I’m a little worried it wouldn’t work, but wouldn’t know without testing it.

  2. Cynthia says

You don’t give size of containers pudding LG small coolwhip LG small ‼️

    • Lisa Longley says

I give the sizes in ounces. That measurement is written on the containers at the store and will help you know which containers to buy.

Going to make this on the weekend! I’ve already ventured out of the typical orange and lime fluffs for years. I know that cherry fluff will e just as tasty so I have no hesitation in making this. I did stop adding the mini marshmallows as no one except for our 14 year old grand-daughter likes them! I also found a different source where I can buy low carb. pie filling and I already have the cherry flavor and as I use sugar free pudding mix and Cool Whip light, I can cut the carbs even more. I am not on that trending keto diet, but just have 62 years of Type 1 diabetes so I have to count every carb I eat as that determines the dosage of my insulin injection. Have been cooking this way, with substitutions for over 4 years so I can pretty much eat anything I want by also watching portion sizes! No questions; just a comment

  4. April says

I hate cherry pie filling. Do you think I could substitute (drained) maraschino cherries and maybe 1/2 a package of dry cherry jello mix instead?

    • Lisa Longley says

Those are pretty different consistencies, so it would likely work but I would want to test t. You could make your own cherry pie filling so that you can tweak it to your liking using this recipe: Cherry Pie Filling or you could just use a different flavor of pie filling.
