One of my most popular recipes this time of year is my Bailey’s Fudge. Actually, all of my fudge recipes are really popular this time of year, but especially the Bailey’s Fudge. Guys. People like their liquor and their chocolate together. Maybe a reason why this Red Wine Chocolate Cake is so popular.

I recently got a comment on my Bailey’s Fudge recipe from someone asking me to make Jack Daniel’s Fudge. And I was immediately intrigued.

Guys.

I like whiskey.

Next to a glass of whiskey is a tower of cubed Jack Daniel's Fudge

Also . . . . at the risk of all of you coming together to start an intervention for this weird blogger stranger who’s posts you sometimes read . . . . I started another blog . . . . that is only cocktails.

Shake Drink Repeat is my new little fun side hobby because I have an abundance of free time.

Guys. I like sarcasm too.

SDR is a work in progress, but my hope is that in the future (read: After Christmas when I have more time), it will be the home of tons of fun and obscure cocktails that you can play with at home.

Anyway.

Let’s talk about this fudge!

HOW TO MAKE EASY HOMEMADE FUDGE

The key to making an easy homemade fudge is to start with sweetened condensed milk. The basic ratio is 14 oz sweetened condensed milk to 3 cups of chocolate chips. But when you start throwing in other liquids (like whiskey) or other things (like Nutella) you have to tweak things a little bit.

HOW TO MAKE JACK DANIEL’S WHISKEY FUDGE

  • Make sure that you stick to the recipe. I know, this is not a novel idea, but it’s pretty important.
  • When you measure the sweetened condensed milk, use a glass measuring cup and measure to the 8 oz mark. Do NOT use the whole can.
  • Make sure you buy SWEETENED CONDENSED MILK. It looks incredibly similar to the evaporated milk, but they work very differently. Your fudge will not set if you use evaporated milk.
  • Before cutting this fudge, stick it in the refrigerator (covered) for an hour. It will make it cut much more smooth.
  • To get the crisp edges you see on my fudge, I actually used a pairing knife and sliced of a tiny bit. You don’t need to do that if you aren’t a food blogger. It still tastes great with rough edges.

Jack Daniel’s Whiskey Fudge

Serves: 25 pieces
(tap # to scale)
Prep: 5 minutes
This Jack Daniel’s Whiskey Fudge is your favorite liquor and chocolate COMBINED!  Make this easy homemade fudge recipe with condensed milk in five minutes!

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups chocolate chips I used milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk see note
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup Jack Daniel’s whiskey

Instructions

  • Line an 8 by 8 inch baking dish with aluminum foil.
  • In a large bowl melt the chocolate chips in the microwave according to package instructions.
  • Stir in the sweetened condensed milk, the vanilla extract, and the whiskey.
  • Pour the mixture into the baking dish.  Cover with aluminum foil and let set completely (about four to eight hours).  Refrigerate for 1 hour before slicing. This last step of refrigeration is optional, but makes the fudge slice nicely.
  • Enjoy and store in an airtight container for two weeks.

Notes

Make sure you measure this out. A can from the grocery store is 14 oz and more than you need. Also make sure you are buying sweetened condensed milk and not evaporated milk as they are on the shelf next to each other and that is an easy mistake to make.

Could someone let me know the recipe in grams please?

  2. Kimberly says

Can you use semi-sweet chocolate chips for this fudge?

    • Lisa Longley says

      Yes, that would work fine!

    • Naomi L Ennis says

      Is there a vegan option?

      • Lisa Longley says

Sorry, Naomi, I’ve only done this recipe with sweetened condensed milk.

  3. Linda says

Can i use semi sweet chocolate chips instead of the milk chocolate?
    Thanks

    • Lisa Longley says

      Yes!

  4. Lynda says

Do you think that Fireball would work with this recipe? Or JD has a cinnamon flavour as well.

    • Lisa Longley says

I actually have a Fireball Fudge recipe that’s quite popular!

  5. Cameron McNabb says

Hello, thanks for posting this recipe. I haven’t tried it yet, but I plan to soon!
However, I was curious why the Amaretto Fudge recipe is so much different than this recipe. I would think that you could just take this recipe and swap out the 1/4 cup of whisky with a 1/4 cup of Amaretto?

    Thanks, Cameron McNabb

    • Lisa Longley says

Hi Cameraon! I simply made the Amaretto Fudge when I had less experience. So you could definitely make it the same way as this Whiskey Fudge and it should turn out okay.

    5 stars
I made this and they tasted and turned out great!
I melted the chocolate in double boiler, once melted and I added the other ingredients, the chocolate looked horrible! I thought I had wasted the Jack Daniel’s! It was clumpy and looked almost burnt…but if you keep stirring while on some heat, it will meld all together and be great! Don’t give up, keep working the ingredients into the chocolate until smooth consistency & you won’t be disappointed!

    • Lisa Longley says

Thanks for coming back to let me know!

  7. Patti sosa says

That side note is very confusing. You said one cup of sweetened condensed milk, and that the can says 14 oz. If you pour out the can, it is one cup. You should have weight as a measurement. 8 oz

    • Lisa Longley says

Hi Patti, I’ms sorry you found this confusing. We actually don’t want to use weight as the measurement here. We are using 8 liquid ounces (so there will be 6 liquid ounces left in that 14 ounce can). In the U.S. that is the same as the one cup mark on a glass measuring cup. I hope that helps clear things up.

  8. Josi Cammarata says

I want to use Peppermint Schnapps in this recipe and top the fudge with
crushed peppermint sticks. will the Schnapps mix well?

    • Lisa Longley says

I’m sorry I’m just getting to this, Josi, that sounds delicious!

  9. Connie Kieninger says

I have made the jack daniels fudge 4 times now and I keep getting asked when I going to make it again. Just got done making a double batch for the bowling team to have tonight. That’s after they are done bowling!!

  10. Omkar aher says

Hi , I just wanted to know how May grams of chocochips you have used in this recipe

    • Lisa Longley says
