Pudding Shots are only four ingredients, and with all the different flavors of pudding and liqueur, the possibilities are endless!

I’ve been making pudding shots for ages, and there are truly so many different things you can do with them. Today, I made you vanilla pudding shots with Rum Chata and chocolate pudding shots with Baileys, but you can mix and match in so many different and delicious ways.

Ingredients for Pudding Shots
This easy recipe is always a hit because of how delicious it is! For the full recipe, including all ingredients and their measurements, scroll to the recipe card at the bottom of the post.
- Pudding mix: Vanilla or chocolate dry instant pudding mix is the base of these boozy treats.
- Milk
- Liquor: Anything that would pair well with vanilla or chocolate flavors can be used. Baileys Irish Cream, vodka, and RumChata are my go-tos.
- Cool Whip: Gives the shots the best fluffy texture and creamy consistency. You could also make my Stabilized Whipped Cream recipe, which is an excellent homemade replacement for Cool Whip.
How to Make Pudding Shots
Here is a brief overview of how this creamy pudding shots recipe comes together. Be sure to scroll to the recipe card at the bottom of the post for the full recipe, including the full list of ingredients and their measurements.
Combine the Ingredients
Whisk together the pudding mix, milk, and liquor in a large bowl until smooth. You can do this by hand or with an electric mixer.

Add the Cool Whip
Stir in the whipped topping until fully combined.

Put Into Cups and Refrigerate
These disposable plastic shot cups are perfect for this recipe and jello shots. I love that they come with lids for easy storage and transportation. Leave enough room that you can easily put the lids on the cups. Chill for 30 minutes. Add whipped cream to the top and serve.

Flavor Variations
- Rumchata pudding shots: Made with vanilla pudding and Rumchata.
- Bailey’s pudding shots: Made with chocolate pudding and Baileys Irish Cream liqueur.
- Chocolate pudding shots: Starting with chocolate pudding, use plain vodka or creme de cocoa.
- Cake pudding shots: Use birthday cake vodka and vanilla pudding mix. You can even add colored sprinkles for an extra festive touch.

Storing Pudding Shots
These pudding shots can be stored covered in the refrigerator for up to three days. Add the whipped cream just before serving.
