This Cherry Sangria recipe fruity, refreshing and is made with just four simple ingredients. The perfect pitcher for just about any occasion.

Just FOUR ingredients for this simple but irresistible Cherry Sangria!

This post was originally published in June of 2013. The photos and text have been updated in May of 2017.

This is a post that I wrote years and years ago as part of a birthday celebration for a good blogging buddy of mine. She has moved on to bigger and better things, like being the mom of a super sweet little baby boy, and I thought that the photos of this Cherry Sangria could use a good face lift. So here we are!

Just FOUR ingredients for this simple but irresistible Cherry Sangria!

How to Make Cherry Sangria

This Cherry Sangria recipe comes together with just four ingredients. You’ll want to make it the night before, so the flavors really have time to marinate together.

  1. Start with some sweet white wine like Moscato, but if you’re worried that it’ll be too sweet for you, pick a different white wine that you love.
  2. Add some Amaretto liquor and frozen cherries and let it refrigerate overnight The cherries will thaw into the cocktail and give it a beautiful red color and sweet cherry flavor.
  3. Just before serving, pour the Sangria mixture over white soda. Club soda works great, or I like using a diet lemon-lime soda.

tip

This Cherry Sangria tastes best about two days past making it. But it’s really delicious after one night in the fridge.

Variations to this Sangria Recipe

  • A pitcher of this Cherry Sangria goes fast, so I definitely suggest you double it.
  • However, don’t feel like you need to double the frozen cherries. One bag is definitely enough.
  • I like to add some white soda, like Sierra Mist or 7-Up to top off the glasses but that’s definitely not a must.
  • If you don’t like your drinks very sweet, swap out the white soda for club soda.

Cherry Sangria

Author: Lisa Longley
(tap # to scale)

Ingredients

  • 750 ml bottle of Moscato I use Barefoot
  • 1/3 cup of Amaretto Liqueur
  • 1 12 oz bag of frozen cherries (I got mine at Target)
  • white soda I use Diet Sierra Mist (optional)

Instructions

  • Mix together the wine, the amaretto, and the cherries and let sit overnight. Note that this recipe actually tastes best two days past making it, though it is delicious after one night in the fridge.
  • Serve the sangria topped with the white soda (or club soda for a less sweet drink). I did about two parts sangria to every one part soda.

  9. Becky Houston says

how many does the cherry sangria serve? Having a party for about 15 ladies. Will your recipe make enough or should I double??

    • Lisa Longley says

Hi Becky! I would for sure double it, maybe triple. The last time I doubled it, I realized that you don’t really need to double the cherries. So I would double everything but the cherries. If you triple it, I would triple everything and double the cherries. I hope you like it!

  10. Sherry Lavalais says

I just bought 10 lbs of cherries, do they have to be frozen? Anything special I should do to them so the flavor is prime?

    • Lisa Longley says

They don’t have to be frozen! I would go with one cup of fresh cherries for this recipe, mainly because I know how precious fresh cherries are and you don’t need more than that for this sangria to still take great!

      • Mildred E Laible says

what kind of moscato, white pink or red

        • Lisa Longley says

I used white, but I think it would be with pink too!
