A few years ago, some of our neighbors vacationed in Jamaica. Not only did they come back tanned and relaxed, they came back with some amazing recipes for rum punch. We were lucky enough that they shared this one with us!

This delicious and easy rum punch is made with four different kinds of rum and four different kinds of juice. The end result is a delicious punch that you will love all summer long. It is a great way to escape to the Caribbean without getting on a plane.

Rum Punch Ingredients

Here is the list of ingredients that make up the tropical rum punch drink! For the full list and all measurements, be sure to scroll to the recipe card at the bottom of the post.

  • White rum: A light, clear, or white rum is the first rum in this punch recipe, adding a clean and crisp flavor. Bacardi is a popular choice for its smoothness and versatility.
  • Spiced rum: Adding depth and warmth, spiced rum infuses the punch with spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
  • Coconut rum: The sweet and creamy notes of coconut rum add a luscious tropical twist to the cocktail, inserting sandy beaches and swaying palm trees. Malibu is a great choice.
  • Pineapple rum: Brings a burst of boozy tropical flavor.
  • Pineapple juice: Provides a sweet and tangy base for our punch, adding a tropical brightness and natural sweetness.
  • Mango juice: Complements the other tropical flavors with its exotic sweetness. If you can’t find mango juice, you can use 1/2 cup pineapple juice + 1/2 cup orange juice.
  • Orange juice: Adds a bright and citrusy note and refreshing zing.
  • Grenadine: A sweet and syrupy concoction that gives the punch a rosy hue and a hint of pomegranate flavor.
  • Lime juice: Provides a tart and tangy contrast to the sweetness of the other ingredients, balancing the flavors and adding a refreshing citrus kick.
  • Oranges and lemons: Sliced up fruits add color and flavor to the punch.

How to Make Rum Punch

Here is a brief overview of how this Malibu rum punch recipe comes together right in a pitcher, dispenser, or punch bowl for serving. For the full recipe, scroll to the recipe card at the bottom of the post.

Replacing Canned Pineapple for Fresh

If you want to make this rum punch with fresh pineapple, you can swap the canned pineapple for two cups cut up pineapple and another cup of pineapple juice. I love getting fresh pineapples. They make a delicious snack!

How To Cut A Pineapple

Learning How to Cut a Pineapple is very simple, and once you do it, you will get pineapples all the time!

Pro Tip!

To stretch this rum punch cocktail recipe further or make it less strong, add chilled club soda. You can also keep club soda on the side that guests can add to their drinks.

Making Rum Punch Ahead of Time

The longer the punch sits, the more the fruit will break down. I would not recommend making this more than a day ahead of time. While you can add ice to the pitcher to keep the punch cold, it will dilute the drink. So keep your punch in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve. Add the fresh fruit slices just before serving the punch.
