It’s my favorite food blogging season . . . GAMEDAY SEASON!!

If I could . . . if it wouldn’t make me ridiculously overweight . . . if my family would still let me live here . . . if Pinterest would still pin me . . . I would GAMEDAY ALL THE THINGS.

Can you just imagine it?? Jalapeño Popper Pancakes? Sandwiches at lunch stuffed with pizza toppings. Buffalo EVERYTHING for dinner??  Hey, we could have my Chocolate Bacon Bomb Pie for dessert!! Okay, so actually, I’m not really that far from already gamedaying all the things.

Add another one to the list of gameday food! Buffalo Beer Bread with Light Ranch Dip! I loooove a good beer bread, because they are so easy to throw together. I start with my basic Three Ingredient Beer Bread, and I just throw in other things and you can come up with all sorts of different creations. Like Jalapeño Popper and Bacon Cheddar. See. #gamedayallthethings

The real irony is that I don’t even like watching sports. I’m just in it for the food. Like with most things :)

This Buffalo Beer Bread is delicious on its own, with it’s deep blue cheese flavor and buffalo kick, but it’s even better, like ridiculously awesome good, with this Light Ranch Dip. This plate of bread and dip barely escaped the photo shoot!

You. And. Me. Both, Annie! :D

  3. Rachelle says

Wow! That beer bread looks great! I’m totally making some! Since I brew my own beer I can use that, which makes it especially fun! And blue cheese? Yes please! That pull apart bread is also coming to my gameday festivities!

  4. Lauren says

I can’t wait to make this on Saturday as we watch our beloved Patriots! Question – where does the remaining 1/4 cup blue cheese go?

    • Lisa Longley says

Gah!! Lauren, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve done this, left part of the ingredients out of the recipe instructions. Stupid mom brain. It gets sprinkled on top. Thank you! Off to fix the recipe :)

  5. GG says

Eh, you should try out the “ridiculously overweight” thing before you judge it. Maybe find a different phrase, though. What’s the cut-off for ridiculous though? ‘Cause I’m 250 and I’m just the way I should be, and awesome ;)

    Bread looks nice, though.

    • Lisa Longley says

Hi there! You sound awesome :) I should clarify: Ridiculously overweight . . for me. I couldn’t care less how much anyone else weighs.

      • GG says

Your language still adds to weight stigma, hon! Kids hear that stuff and internalize it, too. And thanks, I am awesome :D

It appears that you do care about your weigh issue or you would not have bothered to try troll this lovely lady who is doing nothing more than sharing with the world her hard work, time and money. Save your RIDICULOUS outburst for your therapist and if you don’t have one, you should get one to help you deal with your body image issue!

FYI no kids can buy and or handle beer so the odds are not high of one reading the words OVERWEIGHT on this blog will not be traumatized. Rage on Bitter Betty!

          Sincerely, 5’9 235lbs

  6. Sara says

I want to make this, except self rising flour isn’t a thing I buy, and I’m not going to go out and buy some specifically for this recipe. Was wondering if there’s an alternate recipe for people who just have regular flour and yeast?

    • Lisa Longley says

No problem at all! I would suggest you look up how to make self rising flour (it’s just all purpose flour, salt and baking powder) and then make the exact amount you need.
